Nice to read a prehistory book that follows the facts and observations where they lead rather than starting from a theory.

A little tedious reading but worth the effort.
I downloaded this book for my 2, and was unable to see any pictures on it. I just received a birthday gift of the Fire, and am hoping I can access images missing when read on the 2. This book has awakened a need to find other books on archaeology. Fascinating!

It was very interesting to see how archaeology was presented in the 19th century. I think it is only useful for that historial perspective.
This book is certainly better than average for those specializing in archaeology of the America's. It is well written and documented, with conclusions well thought out, especially considering this book is around the turn of the 20th century. A lot of research went into writing this book.
Very good introduction into pre-history America in both findings and theories. As the book was written in the later part of the 1800's, it's amazing how much they knew then!
Obviously dated information of course, but interesting nonetheless. Amazing just how many items are listed in this work. Lots of the information has changed since this was first published, but it still can serve as a starting point for some research.
